The majority of diamond engagement rings today use the round brilliant diamond shape, with the majority of the remaining rings set with princess-cut diamonds.

Most important above all is to find out what shape she prefers. Other popular diamond shapes include oval, princess-cut, emerald-cut, Asscher-cut, marquise-cut, radiant-cut, pear-shaped, and heart-shaped diamonds and even one of a kind specialty shapes.
